Thoughtfully Guided Days on Moving Water

Choose the date. We’ll read the river.

The best days on the river begin with attention.

Watching how the current moves.

Noticing where trout hold.

Adjusting to what the water offers that day.

Teeming Streams is built around that simple idea:

the river always has something to teach.

A Guide Service Built Around Rivers

Teeming Streams offers guided fly fishing across some of the most beautiful trout waters of the Inland Northwest.

Each day on the river is shaped by conditions, observation, and recent time spent scouting the water. Rather than following a fixed routine, we adapt to what the river offers—choosing the water, techniques, and timing that give anglers the best opportunity for success.

Whether you are new to fly fishing or have spent years on trout water, the goal remains the same: a thoughtful day on the river.

Rivers of the Inland Northwest

Every river has its own character. Flows, season, and recent observations help determine where trout are most likely to be feeding on a given day.

Some anglers request a particular river. Others simply choose a date and allow the conditions to guide the decision.

Either way, the experience begins with the water.

Yakima River

Washington’s Blue Ribbon trout river, known for prolific insect life, diverse water types, and classic dry fly opportunities throughout the season.

Choose the Date. We’ll Read the Water.

Many anglers arrive with a particular river in mind. Others prefer to choose a date and allow the conditions to guide the final decision.

Flows, water temperature, weather patterns, and recent time spent on the water all help determine where trout are most likely to be active.

Sometimes that means floating the Yakima.
Sometimes it means exploring the Spokane.
Other days the best opportunity may lie farther north on the Kootenai or east on the Clark Fork.

The goal is simple: place anglers on the strongest water available that day.

Meet Your Guide

I grew up fishing Alaska’s Kenai River, spending countless hours learning the rhythms of salmon and trout water.

After many years building technology companies and raising a family, I returned to the rivers that first shaped me. Teeming Streams grew from that return.

Today I guide across a handful of rivers in Washington and Montana—sharing not just where to cast, but how to understand the water beneath your feet.

Early in the day I often tell clients:

I can operate anywhere between “teach me everything you know” and “shut up and row.”

Either approach works just fine.

Fly fishing from a raft provides a smooth, stealthy drift that presents flies naturally with the current, increasing the chances of a successful strike. Additionally, the experience of floating down a scenic river enhances the connection to nature, immersing anglers in the serenity of flowing water, lush banks, and the ever-present thrill of the next cast.

Walk-and-wade fly fishing offers a deeply immersive and intimate experience, allowing anglers to observe insect activity, read the currents, and adjust their approach with precision. This method encourages patience and strategy, as success often depends on stealthy wading, well-placed casts, and a keen understanding of fish behavior.

Backcountry fly fishing is the ultimate pursuit for anglers seeking solitude, adventure, and pristine waters teeming with wild fish. Fishing these remote waters demands self-sufficiency, patience, and an adventurous spirit, rewarding those willing to hike miles into the wilderness with unforgettable experiences and often spectacular fishing.
